This is the piece I am currently working on.
Progress has been slow, as I want to have certain effects stand out when this is viewed.
I am trying some new techniques, and experimenting takes time to get right.
The painting is 36″ high, and 18″ wide.
THE PROCESS:
In addition to paint brushes, I use my hands, heat guns, spray bottles, a blow torch, and gravity.
Working in large formats, I “sculpt” my paintings, starting with a board upon which I layer various materials.
The results of mixing media, with layers between pigments creating a composition, yields beautiful formations. Each work could have several layers, starting with the original layer of poured acrylic paint or resin. This creates the impression of a 3D picture.
